Efficacy Studies

ETC Online has been used by thousands of struggling readers. Efficacy studies indicate that students who used ETC Online every day for 20 minutes for at least 10 weeks gained reading proficiency at a rate of least three times that of students from the same schools who did not use the program. (Results are based on statistically significant Chi-Square test analyses of student performance on the California Standards Test in 2004-05 and 2005-06 from three schools in the Ravenswood City School District.)

Results have been dramatic for English Learners. Among ETC Online users, the percentage of English Learners who performed at the far below basic and below basic levels decreased by 37.5%. There was no change in the performance among English Learners from the same schools who did not use the software.

I would like to recommend that the ETC Online program be certified for use with Special Education students.

My daughter is a Special Education student. She has severe Auditory and Visual Perception problems as well as being diagnosed with ADD. She participated in a ETC Online after school program two years ago. it was a great program for her. She was motivated to learn. She got immediate positive feedback , as she worked step by step on the ETC Online program. I think that the see it, hear it, say it, type it system used in ETC Online was the multisensory program she needed to give her a boost to get her starting to read.

ETC Online gave my child the jumpstart she needed in a step by step phonics and comprehension reading program. I would like other children who struggle like my child to have access to the program.
